Ribbon Types
Pre-encoding ribbons - For use on Continuous Forms Printers.
Most common qualities are: -
- MICR - E13B, CMC7 and OCR Singlestrike.
- Alpha-numeric Black Singlestrike.
- Alpha-numeric Red Singlestrike.
The ribbon size depends on the printer being used. We are aware of most of them but other sizes are available on request - please contact us.
They can also be manufactured in special widths for split-mandrel applications. Please enquire.
Pre-encoding ribbons - For use on Cheque Printers.
There are many printers in use, but if you know the make and model, we will probably know the quality and size of the required ribbon. If you are not sure – just ask us.
Split mandrel ribbons are also available, and can be slit to any width and core configuration - please contact us, and provide a drawing if the ribbons are to be wound off-set on the core, to indicate the off-set dimension relative to the direction of winding. Click here for template.
Fluorescent and/or Indelible “Bleed Through” MICR ribbons are also available All regular Black MICR ribbons are laser-proof, and will resist laser fuser temperatures without ghosting or offset.
MICR Post-encoding ribbons
There are lots of printers in use and many types and sizes of ribbon available. They can be supplied in cartridges or cassettes or just in pancake form. If you do not know what you need, please enquire.
All MICR ribbons are available in both E13B and CMC7 qualities.
MICR Jumbo Rolls
All MICR qualities are available in Jumbo Rolls, for local conversion. MICR material is specifically formulated and tested according to the end-usage, and it is therefore important to state the precise application and the encoding equipment for which it is intended, when ordering.
Jumbo rolls are available in 660mm, 737mm, 787mm, and 838mm widths, wound on 152mm i/d cores. Widths include uncoated selvedges 6mm approximately each side. Roll lengths vary according to the gauge of the base film but are typically between 5000m - 6500m.
All Jumbo Rolls are supplied as semi-processed raw material and may contain flagged coating faults. Slitting waste is the responsibility of the converter.
